The below links will take you to FREE online home study courses that we have either found online, or we have put together on our web site.  All courses are free - and none of them require any sign-ups or registrations - so feel free to test your Futures Knowledge without any broker "interference".

Course Subject:  Futures Trading

  • FK Course 101: Introduction to Futures Trading
This online tutorial was put together on the Futures Knowledge website with the help of the NFA.
Although the original format is available through the NFA in a brochure format, we have broken everything down by chapter, and formatted it for your ease of use.  If you are new to futures or futures options trading, we suggest you start from Chapter 1, and continuously read through Chapter 34!  If you've had some experience trading before, and you're just looking to hone in on some of your skills and knowledge, feel free to use the Table of Contents on the left to jump from page to page.
  • Workbook:  Futures and Options
Available in PDF format, this workbook is created and published by the Minneapolis Grain Exchange.  It covers the futures market, hedging and the basis, the power of options, options strategies - and it concludes with a self-study exam.

Course Subject:  Options Trading

  • FK Course 102: Introduction to Options Trading
This online tutorial was put together on the Futures Knowledge website with the help of the NFA.  Options on futures contracts have added a new dimension to futures trading. Like futures, options provide price protection against adverse price moves. Present-day options trading on the floor of an exchange began in April 1973 when the Chicago Board of Trade created the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) for the sole purpose of trading options on a limited number of New York Stock Exchange-listed equities. Options on futures contracts were introduced at the CBOT in October 1982 when the exchange began trading Options on U.S. Treasury Bond futures.
