What does Robusta Coffee mean?
Robusta is a type of coffee that has it's roots from Central and Western Africa, but is primarily grown in Vietnam (as well as India, Indonesia, Brazil and Africa). The robusta coffee crop generally contains 2.7% caffeine and each plant yields more 'cherries' than an arabica (1.5% caffeine content).

Despite being easier and cheaper to grow, around 30% of the world's coffee grown is of the Robusta variety (versus Arabica). It has a stronger, more acidic taste that is commonly used cheaper supermarket coffee as well as in Italian espresso.
